Yay! You accepted your nomination and are now ready to apply to Yonsei! Be on the lookout for an email from Yonsei that includes the application link, but don't get too worried if it doesn't come right away. I received the email in early September and the deadline to submit the application was in the last week of October.
Tip: Keep in mind that all of the deadlines given by Yonsei are in Korean time (19 hrs ahead), so you'll actually have to submit your application about a day earlier. The application is fairly quick so I recommend that you do it as soon as you receive the link so that you don't have to worry about meeting the deadline later.
Most of the application is fairly straightforward because it's just asking for personal information, such as your address, major, and emergency contacts. One question that I did have to ask Kathy (the MIX coordinator) is what to put for my year of study. She told me that even if you may be in a higher class standing credit-wise, you can just put the year of college you are actually in.
The rest of the application requires you to upload these documents: Current Transcript The transcript you upload to your application must be official, so if you download it from STAR it will be invalid. Fill out this transcript request form and bring it to QLC. You will have to pay $5 per copy (or $15 if you are rushing). If you are paying in cash, bring the form to the Cashier's Office (QLC Room 105). If you are paying with a credit/debit card, bring the form to the Registrar's Office (QLC Room 010). Once you receive your official transcript you can scan and upload it to your application.
Student ID Picture Unfortunately the student ID picture requirements are much more specific than the passport photo requirements, so I could not use the same picture. I just took my ID picture with my phone and cropped it so that it meets the 3.5cm x 4.5cm size requirement. The application will also provide a photo explaining all the different requirements, and if you don't meet them they may ask you to send in another picture.
Passport By now you should already have a passport. The application asks for a copy of your passport and your passport number. I used my scanner to upload the copy, but if you don't have one you can use your phone to scan it instead!
Health Insurance For Yonsei I only bought the MIX insurance plan because I did not need the ISIC card. It takes a while to receive your insurance document after you pay for it and it's definitely not a huge deal if you don't have it by the application deadline. You can ask Kathy to write a letter stating that you'll have insurance while abroad and upload it in place of your proof of insurance. After you submit your application, Yonsei gives you until mid-January to upload your actual proof of insurance, so just make sure you have it by then.
Study Plan The application provides a downloadable word document that you will have to fill out and re-upload. There were four questions to answer (why you chose that major, goals, etc.) and I wrote about a paragraph for each of them.
That's basically it, once you have these documents you'll be good to go for the SAY Application! I received an acceptance email from Yonsei about mid-November and 10 days later my official admission documents were available for pick-up from the MIX Office (QLC Room 206).
